Rick's comments: Boy, what a pain in the butt this painting was! The girl was rendered in a few hours but the ol’ doc took all dang day. I think the last time I labored this long on one face was when I painted The Creature From The Black Lagoon and I’ve pretty much stuck to the ‘smoothies’ since then. Still, I can’t call myself a horror artist if I avoid all the characters with lumpy faces so I finally bit the bullet and got stuck into the lumpiest guy of all; the revengeful Dr Phibes!
